Kerala rain: 4 bodies recovered from Wayanad landslide spot

Thiruvanthapuram: Four bodies have been found from Puthumala near Meppadi in Wayanad district where a major landslide took place on Thursday evening. The deceased include one child and one woman. The recurring landslides have been hindering the rescue operations in the area.

Rains continued to wreak havoc in Kerala for the second consecutive day on Friday. Many parts of the state remain underwater. Landslides have been reported from many parts of the state.

The Central Water Commission has warned that the state might witness deluge this year too.

A flood warning has been in all districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. Educational institutions across the state will have a holiday today. University and PSC examinations have been postponed.

Rains have affected road, rail and air traffic. The Cochin International Airport has been closed till Sunday because of waterlogging.
