Thiruvananthapuram: As Nipah infection has been confirmed in one person who is undergoing treatment for fever, the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has informed that the health network is ready to rise up to the challenge and all necessary preparations have been taken under the supervision of the health Minister.
Contact tracing, tracking down of those who have interacted with the infected person, have been done. The news of confirmation should not be a reason for panic. We request everyone to follow the instructions of the health department. Stringent action will be taken against those who spread misinformation, said the CM
‘We are in constant contact with the Union ministry for Health. A team experts have arrived in Kochi. Their inputs will also inform the efforts against Nipah outbreak. Together, we overcame the battle against Nipah in 2018. This time too, we are going to prevail in this battle,’ added Pinarayi.
