PM Modi to reach Kozhikode today; Security beefed up

Kozhikode: In connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kozhikode as part of the election campaign, security has been tightened in the district on Friday.

A total of 2000 policemen including women cops are deployed all over the city.

Ten SPs will be in-charge of the 150 women police officers, 1700 policemen, 100 CIs, 30 DySPs and five Additional SPs deployed in the city.

Bomb squads and dog squads carried out thorough inspections in the city prior to the PM’s visit.

The prime minister will arrive at Karipur International Airport from Hubli by 6.10 pm on a charted plane. He will reach Kozhikode beach at 6.40 pm by road to attend a campaign rally.

After the programme at the beach, he will return to Mathura in Uttar Pradesh by 7.30 pm.

The police will distribute passes to all persons including BJP leaders who will be present in the immediate vicinity of the prime minister.

The security measures in Kozhikode city and on airport premises are supervised by North Zone ADGP Sheikh Darvesh Saheb.
