CPM officially announces its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections

Though other names were considered in Ponnani to replace P V Anvar, the party finally decided to make him the candidate.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM has officially announced its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. Four sitting MLAs and six sitting MPs will contest in the polls.

Party state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan declared the candidate list in a press conference held at the AKG centre here.

Kodiyeri said that the party has decided to field CPM candidates in 14 seats and to support party rebels in two seats.

Though other names were considered in Ponnani to replace P V Anvar, the party finally decided to make him the candidate.

CPM has made four MLAs candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.

Aroor MLA A. M. Ariff will be fielded in Alappuzha, Aranmula MLA Veena George in Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode North MLA A. Pradeep Kumar in Kozhikode and Nilambur MLA P. V. Anvar in Ponnani constituencies.
