VK Sreekandan’s ‘padhayatra’ enthrall party workers; District Congress Committee walkathon taking place after long 42 years

Palakkad: “Jai Ho” which is the mega walkathon or the padhayatra led by District Congress Committee President VK Sreekandan has been flagged off from here. The move comes just before the approaching Lok Sabha polls in the state.

The walkathon will conclude at Palakkad town after covering 361 kilometers through 88 panchayats and 7 corporations in five days on March 14th. Public meetings and rallies have been organized on the concluding day.

The padhayatra focuses on to strengthen the party before the elections and to resist vindictive undemocratic fascist power.

Earlier the DCC (District Congress Committee) decided to conduct ‘Jai Ho’ in January but refrained as the Janamaha yatra by the KPCC was going on.

The District Congress Committee is organizing a walkathon after 42 years. It was back in 1977 the then District Congress Committee president P Balan, had conducted a padhayatra.

Meanwhile, DCC president VK Sreekandan said that if party demands he will contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. But the final verdict on the candidature-ship is decided by the KPCC election committee and the high command, he added.
