Kanakadurga moves to women’s shelter after husband declines to take her to his house

Perinthalmanna: Kanakadurga, who was in the news for entering the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, has been thrown out of her in-laws’ house. Following she was shifted to a temporary shelter for women, Sakhi One Stop Centre in Perinthalmanna.

According to reports, when she was taken home by police from hospital, they found that her husband had locked the door and left the place with his mother and two children.

Kanakadurga had earlier reached Perinthalmanna under police protection around 7pm on Monday. Though the police officers spoke to Kanakadurga as well as her husband at the police station, the husband declined to take her to his house at Angadipuram. Following which, Kanakadurga was taken to the women’s shelter around 10:30pm.

Kanakadurga was under treatment at the Kozhikode Medical College after being beaten up her mother-in-law. It has been alleged that when she returned home on Tuesday from hospital, she was locked out.

As per reports, she has launched complaint against in-laws to the District Violence Protection Officer. The complaint has been forwarded to the court and is waiting the judgement.

At the same time Kanakadurga said that she doesn’t want to comment on the issue and will respond to media only after her issues have been solved.
