Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V K Prasanth lashes out at PMO, accuses protocol breach

The PMO ridiculed the democratic etiquette for stuffing the BJP leaders in.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Prime Minister’s trip Kerala ended on a jarring note when local MP Shashi Tharoor, MLA V S Shivakumar and Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Adv V K Prasanth were not included in the list of those who were to enter the temple for darshan at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple along with Narendra Modi.

Expressing displeasure over the incident, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Mayor VK Prasanth took it to Facebook.

In his post he took a dig at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) accusing it of major protocol breach.

‘At the time of Prime Minister’s Padmanabhaswamy darshan, according to protocol it was mandatory that the Governor, Chief Minister, State Minister, Mayor, sitting MP, MLA all should have been there. But here the Mayor and MLA were ousted. The PMO ridiculed the democratic etiquette for stuffing the BJP leaders in,’ read the mayor’s post.

Prasanth’s post also added that,’ we reached following the protocol since Modiji is the Prime Minister and we too expect back the same manners.’
