Kozhikode: Malayalam newspaper ‘Deepika’ has harshly criticized sister Lucy who took part in the nuns’ protest against Bishop Franco Mulakkal through their editorial.

On the daily’s editorial page, an article written by Noble Parakkal makes serious accusation against sister Lucy. Though her name is not mentioned in the article, it says that when a nun ridicules chastity in the society, the people should never forget the reality.

It further stated that the sister has took part in the nuns’ protest in connection with the complaint filed by another nun against Jalandhar diocese bishop, without the permission of church authorities.

The article also said that sister Lucy grabbed media attention through spreading lies. It also criticized her for sharing a photograph on social media wearing salwar.

Mother superior general had sought an explanation from sister Lucy regarding the protest, which the sister handed over to the media. The article pointed out that this was another instance of disobedience from the nun’s part as sharing that notice with public was against the church.

Sister Lucy said that she was saddened to see the media insulting her. She insisted that she hasn’t violated any laws. She added that she will not give up due to criticisms.
