Sabarimala issue; State should pass resolution, demands Sreedharan Pillai

Kozhikode: BJP state president Sreedharan Pillai Sunday stated that the centre cannot intervene in the Sabarimala issue unless the state government pass a resolution.

“Sabarimala issue comes under the state subject of the government. According to Article 252 of the constitution, the state government should pass a resolution to seek centre’s intervention on a subject enumerated in state list,” noted BJP president.

Pillai was addressing the media in Kozhikode on Sunday.

“The central government is ready to intervene in the issue. If state government passes a resolution on the subject, BJP will take all steps to protect the rights of devotees,” he added.
