Breakthrough in Abhimanyu murder case: Accused identified, charge sheet to be submitted soon

Kochi: It was a major breakthrough for the probing team investigating the murder of SFI activist, Abhimanyu when the witnesses identified the eight accused who stabbed the latter to death in Maharaja’s college campus.

Campus Front state secretary Rifah, Maharajas College unit secretary JA Muhammed, state committee member Aadhil, Saneesh from Palluruthy, Rejeeb from Nettoor and first year student Farook from Pathanamthitta were identified as the accused.

Popular Front activist Abdul Nazar from Nettoor who was arrested on Friday was produced before the court and remanded. Campus Front Kochi area treasurer Rejeeb was arrested earlier.

There are almost 30 accused in the case but the charge sheet would be prepared at first with those in custody. Others will be included accordingly as per the arrest. The procedures to file the charge sheet against the accused is on progress.
