New Delhi: The Central government has rejected the National Green Tribunal’s order not to alter the ecology zones pointed out in the Kasturirangan Committee report.

With this, the Centre also gave approval for the draft notification issued after making changes in Kasturirangan report.

Union Forest and Environmental department has also decided to inform the Green Tribunal that Kasturirangan report cannot be issued as such.

The Centre also made it clear that it can’t take into consideration opposition raised by states including Kerala against Kasturirangan report.

The Centre has accepted all complaints raised by Kerala. The Union environment ministry has sought legal advice in this regard.
