Spl Assembly session begins giving a big salute to rescue mission

Thiruvananthapuram: In order to discuss the aftermath of the floods and take stock of the rebuilding efforts, a special session of the Kerala Assembly began on Thursday to discuss the aftermath of the floods and take stock of the rebuilding efforts.

The decision to convene the Assembly was taken by the Cabinet on Tuesday. The session will continue till 2 in the afternoon.

Speaking at the occasion, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan first paid homage to those who lost their lives in the floods.The CM also appreciated the efforts of thousands who have offered their selfless service in the rescue mission.

Pinarayi said that 483 people have lost their lives and 14 were reported missing. 140 people were hospitalised following injuries.
