Heavy rain will continue in Kerala for 5 more days: IMD

Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast that heavy rain will continue in the state for five more days. It is reported that very heavy rain with strong winds is expected to lash the state till Thursday.

IMD reported that a depression, which formed over northwest Bay of Bengal that crossed Odisha coast led to the heavy rainfall in various parts of the country.

The IMD has alerted the fishermen not to venture into sea. The sea condition is likely to be very rough over south west, central and north Arabian sea.

There is a possibility of surging waves during high tides in the low-lying areas of coasts and fishermen have been warned not to venture into sea along and off the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts.
