Lorry strike: Cleaner dies in stone-pelting by strike supporters

Palakkad: The cleaner of a lorry which conducted service during the fourth day of the lorry strike died in a stone pelting attack.

The cleaner, Mubarak Bhasha (29), who was a native of Mettupalayam, Coimbatore was killed when his truck came under the attack of the supporters of the ongoing lorry strike.

Bhjasha was hit on his chest and was rushed to a private hospital and further to a district health facility but could not be saved.

The driver of the truck that was on its way to Kochi from Coimbatore also sustained injuries.

The Kasaba police took the lorry into custody and a probe is on to nab the culprits.
