 5 SDPI workers arrested for attacking soldier’s house in Kollam

Kannur: In connection with an attack on a soldier’s house in Kollam, five SDPI workers were arrested from Kannur Sunday.

The five were taken into custody from Parassinikadavu by Kollam police and are identified as Ajivan, Nisam, Ameen, Rinshad and Shanavas.

Popular Front – SDPI workers destroyed the house of a Puthur native soldier in connection with a dispute over not allowing space to a vehicle for overtaking in Kottarakkara. The police have found that the motive of the criminals was to instigate riots by creating enmity between religious groups.

A meat seller and his helper were manhandled amidst the dispute over vehicle overtaking. Police found that the accused were planning to portray this incident as a Go Raksha (cattle protection) attack and create a riot.
