Kochi: Taking a dig at Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A),the ruling CPM in Kerala has stated that it was wrong to reinstate actor Dileep who is the eighth accused in the 2017 actress attack case.
“An organisation that should stand for women’s security has ruined its reputation by taking back Dileep. A.M.M.A should realise this and make course correction,” the Left party said in its first official statement over the row.
After the 2017 attack, Dileep had been removed from the association’s primary membership. But in a sudden move, A.M.M.A reinstated his membership on June 24, triggering widespread protests.
