Varappuzha custodial death case: AV George not to be named accused as there is no solid evidence against him

Kochi: Former Aluva SP AV George is likely to be let off the hook in Varappuzha custodial death case. In a legal advice, Director General of Prosecution Manjeri Sreedharan Nair asked Special Investigation Team (SIT) that the official should not be named as accused in the case.

The Director General of Prosecution’s office handed over the legal advice to the SIT. There is no solid evidence against AV George to arraign him as accused. But departmental action can be taken against him, says the legal advice.

Former Ernakulam Rural SP AV George has been placed under suspension in connection with the custodial death of Sreejith at Varappuzha.
