Chennai: The Tamil Nadu police have recovered the burnt body of a woman from Chengalpattu highway in Kancheepuram district, prompting the Kerala police team probing the missing case of college student Jesna to rush to here.
The body was found on May 28.
The police suspect that the body could be of Jesna (20), who has been missing for the past 72 days. The BCom student had gone missing on March 22, while she was on her way from her home in Pathanamthitta to her aunt’s house in the neighbouring Kottayam district.
The Kerala police team reached Chengalpattu Friday night.
The body has been kept in the mortuary of the Chengalpattu medical college hospital.
The body’s face was not entirely recognizable as it was burnt to that extend.
The Tamil Nadu Police said that there were braces on the woman’s teeth and this was one of the reasons why they suspect the body could be of Jesna.
Meanwhile it is learnt that a DNA test will have to be conducted to confirm the identity of the deceased.
