TP Chandrasekharan memorial vandalised

thumbnailKozhikode: Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T P Chandrasekharan’s monument installed at the Vallikad Town where he was murdered was found vandalised on Monday.

The incident is suspected to have happened between early 2.30 and 4 am Monday morning. The star on top of the memorial was completely damaged.

Alleging Communist party of India-Marxist (CPM) was behind the attack, the RMP is observing a hartal in Onchiyam panchayat and Vellikkulangara until 2 pm today. The activists blocked the Vadakara-Nadapuram road. A large contingent of police is camping in the area.

It was the locals who first noticed it. There was a bid to break the memorial last week also. A large crowd is witnessed in the area. The CPM is behind the scene, alleged RMP leader N Venu. The activists sought the intervention of noted leaders and wants the guilty to be punished.

TP was murdered at Onchiyam on May 4, 2012. A probe into the conspiracy angle of the case is still on.
