Pakistan violates ceasefire in Jammu

ceasefireJammu: Pakistan troops overnight violated the ceasefire agreement on the line of control (LoC) in four sectors of the Jammu region.

“Pakistan army opened unprovoked firing at Indian positions on the LoC in Krishna Ghati and Mandi sectors of Poonch district at 9.30 pm on Sunday,” said a defence spokesman.

“They also started firing at our positions in Balakote sector of Rajouri district around the same time. Our troops responded to Pakistan firing,” officials said.

The BSF troops had also retaliated.

Both the defence spokesman and the senior police officer said intermittent firing exchanges were still on at all four places when reports last came in.
