Chhotta Shakeel, one of the accused in the Mumbai blasts case, called up a leading national daily in the country and said “There will be consequences,” the newspaper reported.
The 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict, Yakub Memon, was hanged in Nagpur jail on Thursday morning after both Supreme Court rejected his plea during a midnight hearing. Memon, who was the lone convict sent to gallows in Mumbai the serial blasts which claimed 257 lives in 1993, lost a series of legal battles for a stay on his execution over a period of time.
The bomb blasts conspiracy was hatched by Yakub’s brother, Tiger Memon, the right-hand man of fugitive accused and terror mastermind Dawood Ibrahim.
