Sanju Samson makes Team India debut

Sanju SamsonHarare: Kerala Ranji captain Sanju Samson makes his Team India debut after being picked in the XI to play Zimbabwe in the second T20I in Harare on Sunday.

The 20-year-old got a late call to the side this week after batsman Ambati Rayudu was ruled out of the T20s due to an injury. Sanju reached the Zimbabwean capital only on Thursday and was left out of the first T20I.

This is the second time that Sanju has been selected to the Indian team. The first time was when he was included in the team for the limited over series against England in 2014, but he had to cool himself on the bench.

Sanju’s selection for the national team came on July 13 soon after he was named captain of Kerala Ranji team, making him the youngest skipper of the senior state side.
