“It’s a win of money, booze and misuse of power”: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Aruvikkara result

thumbnailThiruvananthapuram: Accepting the party’s defeat in the Aruvikkara by-poll, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said, ‘it is a win of money, booze and misuse of power.’

“A party based enquiry would be initiated to study about vote leakage,” said Kodiyeri. Mean while a few of the party top leaders speculate Rajagopal’s candidature and the campaign led by film start Suresh Gopi as the major reasons for the victory of UDF.

CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had said that BJP’s presence could split the anti-government votes in the constituency.

Congress candidate K S Sabarinathan won the seat by defeating CPM candidate M Vijayakumar by a margin of 10128 votes. BJP candidate O Rajagopal polled 34145 votes to finish third.
