New Delhi: In connection with the death of IAS officer DK Ravi, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday questioned former Union Minister K H Muniyappa and Kolar independent MLA, R Varthur Prakash, reported Deccan Herald.
The CBI said that the two were examined to understand the circumstances in which the officer was working and if there was any pressure on him when he was posted as deputy commissioner in Kolar district. The politicians were also regularly in touch with Ravi pertaining to various issues in their constituency, added the report.
“It was a routine examination and they were not quizzed as accused. We have to know the circumstances in which Ravi was working,” an official was quoted as saying.
Ravi who took on sand mafia, was founded dead on March 16 in Bengaluru. After massive protests and pressure from the Opposition, the state government had handed over the case to CBI.
