Govt denies media reports on Supplyco’s move to hike prices

hqdefaultThiruvananthapuram: Slamming the media reports, the state government has said that there is no move by the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) to increase the price of subsidised grocery items from June 1.

The government’s clarification comes in the wake of media reports earlier substantiating that Supplyco managing director had sought the government’s nod to revise prices every month to cut down on the agency’s operating loss.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Anoop Jacob tarnishing the allegation said, such reports were part of conspiracies against the Supplyco.

“The agency’s loses would be met by increasing the price of petroleum products and opening more outlets,” the minister added.
