Tommy made this statement at the KPCC meeting held here on Tuesday at Indira Bhavan.
Apart from V M Sudheeran, chief minister Oommen Chandy, home minister Ramesh Chennithala and other leaders also attended the meet. It was Chandy who spoke first stating the UDF `black day’ observed on Monday was a success.
But countering the opinion, Tommy asked if in Kottayam and in Pala, it was a black day or a protest day. That implies even small children believe Mani had accepted bribe in the bar issue. Even in Pala, Kerala Congress did not observe `Black Day’.
Tommy even wondered why the Congress was backing Mani to this extent. In the Assembly, V D Satheesan and V T Balram, among others, did not back Mani. On the budget day on March 13, T N Prathapan refrained from attending the session.
Tommy said all these persons were not interested in supporting Mani.
