The two Councilors, Usha Satish of Chalai and Bosco D Silva of Vettucaud are known to have forwarded their resignations to LDF parliamentary party leader V S Padmakumar and to mayor’s office respectively.
Usha’s move towards resignation comes in the wake of continuous negligence towards her requests of not to bring waste to Chalai from other wards while Bosco’s cause of acquiescence remain unknown.
Times of India quoted Councilor Usha saying -“I felt hurt and humiliated in front of my people. They have paid no regard to my requests and I don’t think I should continue as the councillor. The prospects of LDF in Chalai will be bleak in the coming election,” Usha said. Bosco D Silva, however, refused to comment on his decision to quit.
Mean while sources also reveal that Bosco has been pulled up by the party for the negligence in implementing development projects in his ward, Vettucaud.
The corporation ruling council is blossoming on a two-member majority in the 100-member council and in case LDF loses two members, it will lose majority paving way for the opposition to grab power.
