New Delhi: To a drastic twist in the story of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanada Pushkar’s mysterious death case, the special investigating team of Delhi Police which is probing the Sunanda Pushkar murder case, is questioning Amar Singh over certain claims made by him regarding the case.
Delhi police chief BS Bassi told reporters on Wednesday that SIT is questioning Amar Singh to know what details he has about the case.
“Amar Singh had claimed and also shared some information with the media. We are trying to ascertain the facts from him. We had called him today and the questioning must be under way,” Delhi Police chief told reporters on Wednesday.
Amar Singh had revealed that Sunanda had called him up two days before her death and was talking regarding the IPL fiasco.
Earlier, two journalists have deposed before the SIT and confessed that Sunanda had called them up before her murder and told them about exposing Shashi Tharoor and “having taken over his crimes during the IPL”.
The cops want to know if Sunanda was the front for Shashi Tharoor when she received Rs 75 crore sweat equity from a franchisee involved in the Kochi team.
Both Sunanda and Tharoor, who was then the HRD minister, had denied charges.
Tharoor had to resign after this controversy and he subsequently married Sunanda Pushkar in 2010.
