Kochi: The state cabinet has taken a decision to renew licences of 10 bar hotels as per the High Court order. This includes nine three-star and one four-star classification. On Wednesday the Advocate General had informed this to the High Court.
Justice A V Ramakrishna Pillai issued the order on a contempt of court petition filed by 4-star hotel Presidency Hotel among others stating the government had not implemented the court order.
The government had earlier moved the Supreme Court against the HC order. After the SC dismissed the plea filed by the state, the SC also came down heavily on the state government.
Following the decision, 3 three-star hotels and one 4-star hotel will start functioning from Monday onwards.
