Jaswant Singh free from hospital

Jaswant-SinghNew Delhi: Former BJP leader Jaswant Singh, who was admitted in hospital four months ago, following a severe head injury, was discharged from Army Research and Referral (R&R) hospital on Tuesday.

According to the hospital sources, the 76-year-old leader went into coma after suffering severe head injury after he collapsed at his house. Recovering significantly, he can now open his eyes and at times also recognize some of his family members.

“He is in a minimally conscious state and will continue with supportive care at home,” said a senior official. Singh is breathing on his own and his heart rhythm and blood pressure are normal.

Jaswant Singh served as external affairs and finance minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government.
