UDF doesn’t need the money and vote of liquor sellers, alleged VM Sudheeran

Kochi: Slamming the liquor sellers in the state, KPCC president V M Sudheeran said congress from now on, does not need their money or votes. He was speaking at the Ernakulam press club here on Monday.

The party will very soon take a decision on this and will make an official announcement. Party activists have been sternly directed not to receive money from liquor sellers, Sudheeran said.

The ongoing allegations over bribery charges are mainly aimed to sabotage the new liquor policy, Sudheeran added. Those who had raised the allegations have to come out to prove it. And nobody has been able to provide evidences or prove the allegations. Hence the people too are not taking it seriously. Sudheeran said the govt would take steps in a phased manner to close down all liquor shops in the state.

Sudheeran also backed Mani and said being a strong person in the party and in the front, many allegations have surfaced against him. It is natural to target the influential persons, he added.
