Kozhikodu: The Kerala Government plan to withdraw the case against VHP leader Praveen Togadia for his provocative speech given in Kerala. The move to withdraw the case follows a plea by Kummanam Rajasekharan, Hindu Aikyavedi state general secretary. The case is being withdrawn overruling the strong objection raised by the then Kozhikode city police commissioner Sparjankumar.
Police registered a case against Togadia for the provocative speech he had delivered at the Muthalakkulam Ground, Kozhikode, after the Marad riots. Togadia was named an accused, along with Kummanam Rajashekaran and 5 others, for violating an order not to use a public address system at the Muthalakulam Maidan in Kozhikode on July 8, 2003.
