Jayalalitha gets interim bail; Supreme Court suspends Jaya’s Sentence

NEW DELHI/CHENNAI: AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa’s sentence for two months was suspended by the Supreme Court on Friday and granted her interim bail on the condition that she will make available all documents and translated copies available to the Karnataka High Court for speedy adjudication of her appeal against conviction.

The apex court also said that if the complete set of documents was not made available to the high court by December 18, then Jayalalitha would go back to jail.

Mean while at AIADMK headquarters in Chennai, Jayalalitha’s supporters started to celebrate the granting of bail to her.
