New Delhi: The chief minister of Kearla Oommen Chandy along with other seven ministers met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. Chandy had met the PM to get few of Kerala’s dream project sanctioned by him.
The chief minister is being accompanied by KM Mani, Adoor Prakash, Thiruvanchiyoor Radhakrishnan, K Babu, Shibu Baby John and P.K Abdhu Rabb.
Chandy submitted a 21 page memorandum to Modi citing the various issues faced by the state like- Crisis faced by rubber growers of Kerala, Relaxation in Coastal Regulation Zone [CRZ], Issuance of final Notification as per the Kasthurirangan report etc. The memorandum put forwarded by Chandy suggests 18 proposals that require immediate action from the central government.
More than Rs 2,000 crores is being expected through the proposals put forwarded by the CM. Chandy said that he would request Prime Minister’s attention towards giving priority to the crisis of the rubber growers under the Prime Minister proclaimed ‘make in India’ scheme.
The Chief Minister also discussed about Kuttanadu-Idukki packages with Modi. “The honourable President of India and the Prime minister will be invited for the inaugural and closing ceremony of the 35th National Games.” said Chandy.
The CM and team after having their meeting with a few more central ministers are likely to return back to Kerala in tonight’s flight.
