Thiruvananthapuram: Famous singer cum actor Thrikkodithanam Sachidanantha(52) died. He was undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital where he took his last breath. Sachithananthan, a Changanashery Thrikodithanam resident was living in Thiruvananthapuram for the past couple of years.
For the last 28 years from his college days, Sachidanandan was active in the field of Carnatic concerts of Kerala. Performing music concerts in Temples, Cultural Centres and other public programmes, he has covered nearly 1000 stages. With the calculated rhythemic patterns of his style, he attracted large crowds with the structural improvisations. He is advent in melodious bhajans, folk music and old drama songs.
Sachidananthan who was a deciple of famous Carnatic Singer Trichy Ganesan has acted in Films including National Award winner film ‘Shantham’. He was also engaged in TV Channel Programmes. He had received many awards. Award from the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy, Sangeetha Siromani award from S.P School of Music in 2002, Kanchi Kamakodi Asthana Vidwan award, are a few among his award achievements.
His cremation ceremony is likely to be held at Thycaud tomorrow morning.
