Mumabai: Veteran Journalist and the former chairman of Prasar Bharathi, Madhav Vittal Kamath(94) died on Thursday due to old-age related problems. He had been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai towards his illness. Kamath’s death was confirmed by the doctors by 06.30 in the morning.
Kamath had marked his foot print as the editor of ‘The Sunday Times’ for two years during 1967-69 and its Washington Correspondent of ‘Times of India’ during 1969-78.
He also served as editor of ‘The Illustrated Weekly of India’. He was the honorary Director of Manipal Institute of Communication, when he died. He had also authored nearly 40 books on various topics. The nation had honoured him with the Padma Bhushan award in 2004.
