Earthquake strikes in Japan by 6.3-magnitude

download (26)It is reported that a strong 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck off southern Japan early on Friday injuring 17 people as officials warned residents to be alert to the danger of landslides following the tremor.
There was no tsunami warning or reports of major damage.
Public broadcaster NHK said 17 people were injured. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
According to the US Geological Survey, it is said that the epicentre of the quake was located eight miles north of the city of Kunisaki. The quake hit at a depth of 50 miles.
Japan’s Meteorological Agency said there was no risk of a tsunami but urged residents to stay on alert.
